It may be time to establish a new profession. Since cops are not obligated to protect the public and can pick and choose when they do so, maybe we should have a profession that is.

Gotta wonder exactly how many lawsuits Uvalde is trying to generate?

It's obvious that Law Enforcement in Uvalde are embarrassed by not only by their response time but also by their ineffectiveness at the site. This news coverage showed groups of Sheriffs Dept. Deputees in small clusters milling about the site and not responding to the shooter inside. So to with the Uvalde Police Department This has been seen over and over at other sites of mass casualties incidents. The Border Patrol ran up to the school with Ballistic Shields and found the shooter quickly and dispachted him almost immediatly. If our Sheriff's Dept or the Police Departments don't have these shields then I would highly suggest that they procure them and as soon as possible. It's ok to be scared of a shooter who might take your life and not allow you to walk your daughter down the aisle but if that's indeed what happened then maybe these deputy's had better find another line of work. OR designate a group of individuals with the proper equipment to save innocent lives. These law enforcment officers were on site while this deranged kid shot these students and teachers. They bear the resposibility too for loss of life and slow or no response time. Does the military use ballistic shields? Maybe its high time we start using them to protect our teachers and children while they are at school.

Maybe the law enforcement agencies need to train at a local military base with Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) -This training for clearing a room or classroom, with door open or closed and others like it can definately stop a shooter before he kills anyone or it may reduce the body count.

I don't want anyone to think that this is so onesided and is picking on any one law enforcement branch but if the kids and teachers can't defend themselve then that only leads that job to us the parents or us the law enforcement or the military.
