SFC (Join to see) it's time to lay aside politics and have equal protection under the law. Some good old fashioned news reporting would go a long way in bringing the country together too.

I would like to see what you suggest however the Democrats truly have weaponized our intelligence agencies along with portions of our military and police. It is doubtful they will ever give up the tools they use to try to obtain everlasting power. When they lose the next election they will whine, but them need not worry because the Republicans will piss away their authority when we give it to them like they have every other time we voted them to power. Here is a prime example of what I am talking about:

SFC (Join to see) - unfortunately the kind of reporting I alluded to hasn't been around for 20 years or more. Equality has taken the back seat to sensationalism and pandering to specific demographics. Businesses and religious organizations do not belong in politics. Politics is strange enough with out them.

PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln - I tend to agree with you, I am learning the hard way that everything is political these days.

No matter what a creep he may be, I'm grateful he was not assassinated.

PFC Kimberly Staiti - Again no reasons for you speaking against him, just your "feelings". OK, I get that.

SFC (Join to see) thanks. Guess I'm still allowed an opinion. I don't take it for granted!

Like I said before I saw the whole proceedings and I didn't believe him. OJ was found not guilty. I didn't believe him, either.

PFC Kimberly Staiti - I have feelings about "things" also. I typically don't write about them publicly unless I am prepared for some serious discussion to define my positions. I suppose that's just me. I can appreciate where you are coming from, but I won't spend much time on it. As I get older, I find my time is too valuable.

PFC Kimberly Staiti - I agree with you 100%... you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know he was guilty. He's right up there with 45, Jeffery Epstein, Roger Ailes, Bill Cosby, & Harvey Weinstein. I guess some received their due.

We need to reconsider the "Fairness Doctrine" that existed on TV for a couple decades until its demise at the hands of Pres. Reagan

While I know about the "Fairness Doctrine" I looked it up again to refresh my memory. I also believe that overall it was good for our society, at least it kept more of the “too vocal” on the Left and Right in check. Bias like Walter Cronkite had still forever changed portions of our history.

Wit the advent of the internet, blogs, and everything like that I don’t believe Fairness Doctrine can be applied to our society anymore. For better or worse our technology advanced to the point where private citizens can have the same followings that some news organizations have.

Back to the Fairness Doctrine, yes “most of it” meet most of it’s demise in the late 80’s when the internet was coming into being. What I also forgot was the “editorial and personal-attack provisions” of the Fairness Doctrine weren’t repelled until 2011. It’s interesting to note that this is about the time the Obama Administration was really starting to weaponize the FBI and other Agencies and attacking their political enemies.

In hindsight the FCC should have made new regulations that regulated conduct of private citizens on the air, especially pertaining to the editorial and personal-attack provisions that are completely out of control now. If they did this there would have been a fight about the 1st Amendment. It would have been interesting to see how it would have went, but now we will never see.
