I think it's funny that you think "Protect Democracy" is a non-partisan group.

"In 2016, Protect Democracy was co-founded by Ian Bassin, Justin Florence, and Emily Loeb, who served as lawyers in the White House Counsel’s Office under former President Barack Obama.[7] The co-founders worked with Harvard University political scientist Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt, who joined the group’s Board of Advisors.[8][9][10]" (wikipedia)
Hardly nonpartisan. Chavez, Charen and Coleman have been pariahs in the conservative party since Bush I. The "seven signs" are projection at its finest. Each one precisely describes aspects of today's Socialist-Democrat authoritarian state.

SP5 Renee Reif You are correct. We have no true socialism here yet. So far the weak kneed Republican pushback has kept it at arms length. But it may not be enough. The Socialist-Democrats continue their campaign to strip the 1st Amendment (very successful so far - bake that cake! Disageement with us is disinformation!) and the 2nd Amendment (AR-15s have 300 rd magazines!) The 4th, 6th, 7th & 8th are flouted (political prisoners held without bond for over a year for protesting, anyone?). They are about to get all that sewn up. It helps their movement to open our borders and flood the country with millions of law breaking, unvaccinated, unvetted illegal aliens and concurrently floods of fentanyl and other illegal drugs to murder our citizens. So no, we're not Venezuela yet but they're working on it. I gave you my examples, can you give examples of Republicans implementing authoritarianism, religious nationalism and white supremacy?
