While we cut the budget because of climate change stupidity.
15% budget increase for a couple Department to help with climate change while the US defense budget gets a 4% boost at the same time we have 10% inflation with which means a net of 6 per cent drop and that doesn't take into consideration the price of fuel taking more money away from the budget.
If we work or independent instead of relying on our enemies, it wouldn't be this way.

Navy looks to cut 24 ships, adds 9 more in proposed 2023 budget
The Navy wants to cut 24 ships and build nine more in its proposed $180.5 billion budget for 2023, the service’s top budget officer said Monday. The Navy also proposes reducing the service by about 620 active-duty sailors, bringing the force to about 346,300.

Correction, if we were energy independent, we wouldn't have to beg from our enemies but this Administration is into destroying fossil the fossil fuel industry. He has heard it Gravely with regulations, extra taxes, threatening windfall tax and restrictions. His new public affairs officer said no more Drilling and use existing permits you have. Even if you have the existing permits, doesn't mean you can drill because of all the extra regulations added on purpose by this Administration.
