I'm sure stress can cause miscarriages. Is the right going to ban stress next?

In a word; YES! From what I have been reading, if a woman in certain states has a miscarriage, they want to investigate to see if the pregnant woman was complicit.
"In addition to these problems, laws that penalize women are more likely to be used to investigate miscarriages. Women who miscarry are already inclined to incorrectly believe the miscarriage is somehow their fault and to struggle with guilt on top of grief. Investigating miscarriage would add fear and false legitimacy to their guilt."

Cpl Henry Busby - So add the possibility of a criminal investigation/prosecution on top of the guilt, depression, and everything else that a woman might feel after miscarrying. Way to go republicans.

"How does stress during pregnancy affect the child's development?
The findings further suggest that persistent psychological distress after the baby is born may influence the parent-child interaction and infant self-regulation. Women's elevated anxiety, depression and stress during pregnancy altered key features of the fetal brain, which subsequently decreased their offspring's cognitive development at 18 months."
