"Archaeologists in Egypt have discovered a 2,600-year-old tomb belonging to a man of high status: a "commander of foreign mercenaries" named "Wahibre-mery-Neith."

The tomb's embalming cache, found in 2021, includes more than 370 pottery storage jars containing materials used in the commander's mummification, making it the "largest embalming cache ever found in Egypt," a team of Egyptian and Czech researchers said in a statement(opens in new tab). The tomb is buried at Abusir (also spelled Abū Ṣīr), a few miles south of the giant necropolis at Saqqara.

Grave robbers stole Wahibre-mery-Neith's mummy in antiquity, but archaeologists located remains of his sarcophagus that have hieroglyphs inscribed on them. The glyphs give his identity and quote part of chapter 72 of the Book of the Dead that describes "the resurrection of the deceased and his departure to the afterlife," according to the statement."...

When they dig up the grave, watch the woke archaeologist refuse to determine if the Egyptian they found was a man or a woman?

PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln I should have prefaced this that my parents went to Egypt and Israel back in the nineties. They went to the tombs and The Valley of the king's. They also Told me that they drove across the Sinai in a bus that had a police officer and that the front of the bus had a police car with lights and siren going all the way Across the Sinai until they reached the Israeli checkpoint and there was probably a brigade Of troops to meet them when they went to the Israeli side. My mother also went on are they camel up Mount Sinai. She went up starting at about 2:00 in the morning and she she was able to see the sunrise. Sorry, I couldn't help myself and the downvote from that 1 select individualist makes me laugh. I love Egypt gypt and archeology. I'm fascinated By what I couldn't see and Iraq. When I was Battalion to brigade liaison officer for 2/116 cav brigade with the with the Idaho Army National Guard , I was able to get a slight compilation of all all these ancient ruins in Iraq that we could not see because they were in hostile territory. I still have the slide compilation on my hard drive and I should post it.. So sorry about meeting a loose cannon because I am a science and archeology fanatic. I just couldn't help myself since of sense certain segments of the political population are catering to the 1% transgender crowd and they can't state what they are In the false impression they will be offending them and that's why I just had to say it. It is weird the Egyptians did not think that the brain was something worth keeping when they mummified a body.. They thought the soul came out of the heart. That means that the cadaver of king Tut has no brain in the skull.

LTC (Join to see) - Thanks for the explanation. I just get tired of all the political rhetoric from both ends of the spectrum.

PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln As you can see in other posts in the past 2 weeks, I posted historical historical cars at a used car lot, I posted my 11 year old daughter at a NASA exhibit up here in Edmonton Alberta, I posted my daughter at The Alberta air museum showing World War II, Korean and cold war era Jets and propeller driven bombers. I try to average it out and put subjects that anybody on any end of the spectrum. I even posted a picture of a Indian religious temple that you would think would be out of punjab India but it's actually an Edmonton because we have at least 25000 people from the Sihk faith up here in Edmonton alone
