Sometimes, allowing someone to fail is the best learning tool and experience you can provide.

For sure! The good ones learn, the bad ones make excuses.

Having Been In Management Most Of My Adult Life,
I'd Recommend Asking The Individual To Demonstrate Their Skills.
Take It From There.....
They Either Have The Skills... And Perhaps YOU Can Learn Something From Them;
Or If They Can't Do Them Well, Show Them Your Way Of Accomplishing The Tasks,
But Don't Demand They Accomplish The Projects The Same Way As You Would...
Never TELL Them How To Do Their Assignments. Just Ask Them To Do Their Best ..
THEN Go Back Later & Help Them Improve, IF Needed....

It's An Entire Learning Process And Can Come Within Years Or Just Months;
But Mostly Little By Little, As The Issues Arise & Need To Be Solved...

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Agreed, it's always good to learn a little along the way and pay it forward. It's served me well over the years. I just finished teaching at an OSMRE class this last week and have to smile at seeing all the young nervous faces finding their way. We hear so much about irresponsible young these days that I have to disagree with. We got a lot of good young people out there that just need a little seasoning.

SFC (Join to see) - ... Here's Something I Learned From One Of My Brothers When Living With Him In Central America... I Was About 14 Or 15 At The Time:
"If You're More Fortunate Than Others,
Build a Longer Table, Not A Higher Wall".
It's An Ideal Way To Share Our Lives With Others.
