I recall going through all sorts of similar groundings. At least the system still works.

All your equipment was built by the lowest bidder. Or someone's palm got greased and it was made with the cheapest parts to increase the profit margin.
What's really interesting is that Martin-Baker is probably still being paid.

I'd sure hate to be piloting one with an inop ejection seat.
