"Is a democracy better than a republic?
Overall, I believe that Democracy, as a form of government, is better than a Republic. This is because Republics tend to fall into worse situations, as supported by the history of the countries Greece and Rome. Before I more thoroughly explain my evidence for why a Democracy is better than a Republic, let me first explain how they both work, give examples of each, and finally, explain the differences and similarities between them."

It is both. However, our founding fathers were well read, understanding the warnings of Plato about the dangers of populism and the potential for violent mob rule ( pointing out similarities with pre French Revolution conditions on Facebook Jan 8th, 2021, got my FB account disabled). It doesn’t matter which side goes there first…it historically has tended to spill over, out of control, leading to martial law, chaos, great destruction. Once started, it is very very difficult to stop. Plato much distrusted Democracy because of its close kinship with anarchy in troubled times; he favored an educated, disciplined, military ruling class.
Beware of leftists undermining the core principles of the military…it is a conservative institution by design, to ensure continuity and preserve democracy. It was never intended to be “inclusive”— by necessity. It is for those capable and qualified, who are willing to give over their own freedoms for the benefit of others.
