I loved working the aardvark, but had more pleasant names for it. It was quite the aircraft that took many hours to get airborne. I worked A,D, and E, plus a little on the F. (Cannon, and Upper Heyford)

Had a good friend who flew out of Upper Heyford in the mid 70s

I always wondered, with the wings forward for more lift in Takeoff the bomb load appears to parallel the fuselage, when you sweep the wings back doesn't that add drag? Or do the wingpoints swivel to remain parallel?

Wingpoints swivel so everything out there is parallel with the fuselage no matter wing sweep.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I have never been up close on an FB111, but that was what I guessed. Thanks for letting me know.
