"What happened at the football match in Indonesia?
At least 127 people have died in a stampede at an Indonesian football match after police tear-gassed rioting supporters, officials say. Around 180 were injured in a crush after Arema FC lost to rivals Persebaya Surabaya in East Java. Videos show fans running on to the pitch after the final whistle."

Not unusual at football (soccer) stadiums. 97 died at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield UK in 1989. It was originally attributed to drunk Liverpool FC fans. It was later found that a. the Liverpool fans were not drunk, b. It was the ineptness of the police that caused the problem and they covered it up.
After this disaster all British stadiums were required to go to stadium seating, no more terraces.
