Two Russians who said they fled the country to avoid compulsory military service have requested asylum in the U.S. after landing on a remote Alaska island in the Bering Sea, Alaska U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski's office said Thursday. Karina Borger, a Murkowski spokesperson, by email said the office has been in communication with the U.S. Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection and that “the Russian nationals reported that they fled one of the coastal communities on the east coast of Russia to avoid compulsory military service.”

Once again people fleeing Communism and it's complete control and exploitation of people for no good reason at all and once again on invading another country ! Seems I recall another mass exodos from South Vietnam as the Communist North invaded with the support of both Russia and China while the US withdrew the support from South Vietnam when the most badly needed it ! The Democratic party (including then Senator Biden) controlled US Congress also took away money that South Vietnam had already been promised and abandoned them to fend for themselves.
