I said it before and it bears repeating. When I got out of school, I looked at my parents and saw they were financially secure, had good jobs, owned a house and cars. I said to myself that I wanted that too and so I should work hard and eventually I'll be in that situation too.
Now day, people get out of school and hold out the left hand for the good job and money and the right for the house and car.
I know it's not all of them, but the level of entitlement in the Gen Zers is unbelievable.
- 58% of Gen Z believe that their employer has a responsibility to help them feel more financially empowered
- Gen Z is more likely to go into debt or receive financial support from relatives to meet their financial goals
In other words - sponge off of others is acceptable and the majority of them believe it is someone else's responsibility to make them fiscally sound.
- 70% of Gen Zers said they did not keep a formal budget
- 44% of Gen Zers and 38% of millennials do not invest
- 39% of Gen Zers have no emergency savings at all
Why?
Because between 45% and 50% of Gen Z/millennials live beyond their means.
I'm sorry - I struggled my entire life to get where I'm at now. Why the @#$@ do you think it should be handed to you just because you feel entitled.

My grandchildren are sick of me telling them the story of how I used a lawn furniture foldup chair as a bed for half a year until I could afford a bed. At the time I had other priorities I needed to spend on.
