LTC Eugene Chu saw it live today on TV.
"The family of U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who died hours after defending the Capitol on Jan. 6, refused to shake hands with the two top Republican members of Congress at a Tuesday ceremony.
The Sicknick family members walked by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., during a ceremony on Tuesday recognizing hundreds of officers who were at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

McConnell had his hand outstretched, but Sicknick’s family ignored his gesture. They told NBC News after the event that passing on the opportunity to shake the GOP leaders’ hands was not a mistake.

“We got together and said we’re not going to shake their hands,” Gladys Sicknick, mother of the late officer, told NBC News.

She called out congressional Republicans who continue to support former President Trump, “go down to Mar-a-Lago and you know, kiss his ring or whatever the hell they do down there, you know.” She met with Republican lawmakers last year asking for them to vote in support of creating a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Capitol attack. McConnell and McCarthy were opposed to the commission. The legislation passed the House, but it was blocked in the Senate due to a Republican opposition led by McConnell."...

I guess he's entitled to his opinion but I guess there is a board and the sergeant arms work together for Capitol Security.

Everybody blames everything on republicans. The open border that is supposedly secure is blame on Republicans or it's considered a stunt if Republicans complain.

The last 23 months, we've endured a Congress and a president that's something out of The Twilight Zone.

This is not Democratic party from the 1990s. President Biden trying to make make America great again Republicans sound like something out of Nazi Stormtroopers but that's just the left of Vladimir Lenin Democrats today. Modern Democrats like senator manchin of West Virginia and Senator Sinema of Arizona are more in line with JFK and President Clinton but these Democrats didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left them!

That’s what the POS #45 embraces and those that continue to support and defend his ideology

Don’t be shocked by the GOP’s embrace of white nationalism—it’s nothing new for the party

The 1924 Republican National Convention was nicknamed the “Kleveland Konvention” due to KKK influence.

* Homegrown Hate: Why White Nationalists and Militant Islamists Are Waging War against the United States

“In August 1925, thousands of KKK members marched down Pennsylvania Avenue against the backdrop of the Capitol Building. The 1924 Republican National Convention would be highlighted in Time, featuring Imperial Wizard Hiram Wesley Evans on its June 23, 1924, cover, and dubbing it the “Kleveland Konvention” due to the influence of the KKK on the GOP.

(Though the 1924 Democratic National Convention was also an epicenter of the KKK’s battle for political control, with hundreds of Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in attendance as delegates, the Democratic Party was slowly liberalizing its views on race and immigration.

That said, FDR’s presidency and New Deal programs offered economic recovery primarily for white Americans, and enforced systemic racism through housing covenants and other legislation keeping Black and brown Americans out of reach of the American dream.) “

* The pseudoscience of eugenics, asserting race as a biological fact as well as the inherent supremacy of the white race, had also taken hold in the GOP. Initially a Western European idea originating in the 1880s, the belief that white people’s genetic makeup was superior and must be protected had led not only to the religion of Christian Identity, which would become a predominant force for white nationalist violence in 20th-century America, but also to the passing of the 1924 Johnson-Reed Act.

* Pushed by Republicans—Rep. Albert Johnson and Sen. David Reed in particular—what would come to be known as the 1924 Immigration Act implemented quotas on people entering the U.S. from Southern and Eastern Europe and completely restricted immigration from Asia.

* This would be the most restrictive legislation up until that point denying who could be American based on skin color and national origin.

I.) President Trump recycled these racist concepts and policies for the present day. These included descriptions of Mexicans as “rapists” and caravans of people heading to the U.S. for refuge as an “invasion,” as well as the Muslim Ban, the construction of a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, and the forced imprisonment of hundreds of children at that border.

II.) current members of Congress continue to repeat the racist and xenophobic perspective on upholding America as a white ethno-state. Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul A. Gosar were set to launch an “America First Caucus” to promote “Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and stem immigration, but quickly distanced themselves from doing so  after anti-Trump Republicans like Rep. Liz Cheney condemned its formation. The caucus claimed people of color pose risks to the future of America as a “unique country with a unique culture with a unique identity.”

“A congressional candidate whose compelling personal story of military valor and unfathomable loss helped him win former President Donald Trump’s support has connections to right-wing extremists, including a campaign consultant who was a member of the Proud Boys.

Republican Joe Kent, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington state in the Aug. 2 primary, has also courted prominent white nationalists and posed recently for a photograph with a media personality who has previously described Adolf Hitler as a “complicated historical figure” who “many people misunderstand.”

Adolf Hitler Attempts a Coup, 1923

The "Beer Hall Putsch

By Jennifer Rosenberg
Updated November 25, 2019
Ten years before Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany, he tried to take power by force during the Beer Hall Putsch. On the night of November 8, 1923, Hitler and some of his Nazi confederates stormed into a Munich beer hall and attempted to force the triumvirate, the three men that governed Bavaria, to join him in a national revolution. The men of the triumvirate initially agreed since they were being held at gunpoint, but then denounced the coup as soon as they were allowed to leave.
