Glad to see we are still moving forward on equipment procurement. Now if we only have properly trained folks to operate it

Training on the employment of the Stryker-based systems should be no more difficult than training THAAD or Patriot operators - the system largely does the engagement.

However, maintenance of the system ... yeah, that's going to be the long pole in the tent. I remember way back when I was an S2 for a Patriot unit that we always had our highly skilled/highly paid contractors along with us to do the 'real maintenance' on the system.

Our Soldiers largely just were told by the system that module 23 had a fault and they replaced module 23 ... then gave it to the contractor (who did field/forward shop repairs or sent it back to the company).

Good news.

Lasers are the future of warfare and advancements over the last few years along have been amazing in moving us further towards the "sci-fi future" we've all read about.
