(1) Maj. Glenn Miller waits to board the Norseman that will take him to Paris on 15 Dec. 1944. (2) One speculation was that Maj. Glenn Miller's Norseman was brought down by bombs jettisoned by RAF bombers returning to base because of bad weather over the Continent.

SPC Bill Bailey even if it was an English bomber in daytime, the Americans had the job of Daylight bombing. Round the clock operations of bombing the Enemywas the order of the day. Why would a plane with an American pilot , i presume, even go into that area? Certainly the army air corps knew of the order for around the clock bombings even if it was an English bomber that cleared its bays before going to land. It was an area known for such things, as the bombs being dropped there before hitting home.
