Here is my question: If he is granted the waiver and is able to play for the NFL...what happens if he gets injured to the point he is unable to serve his military obligation?

Is USMA a commissioning source or not?
Is it a surprise to anyone who attends that there is a service obligation after graduation?
Are all who complete the course of instruction and graduate expected to be commissioned or not?
If we allow exceptions based on non-military performance excellence and incredible non-service opportunities, after graduation, why stop at sports? (Singers, actors, dancers, Bio-medical science, etc, etc.)
