“For our team, it was extremely important to restore the restaurant as soon as possible in order to support the local community, return regular services and favorite foods, and take a step in rebuilding the infrastructure in the town,” said Yulia Badritdinova, CEO of McDonald’s in Ukraine.
The Bucha location, at 10B Nove Shose Street, had been brand new, having opened on Dec. 23, 2020. In March 2022, it was damaged as a result of hostilities in the Kyiv suburban town. It was later found that occupying Russian soldiers had committed atrocities against civilians in Bucha.
The restaurant will be open from 09 a.m. to 9 p.m. It has a generator, which will enable the institution to work more stably under conditions of frequent power outages.
The location has the same enhanced safety rules as other restaurants – during air raid alerts, the facility closes so that staff and visitors can move to the nearest shelter. At the same time, the team quickly completes paid orders while stopping production processes and turning off equipment before closing.
Information about open and temporarily closed locations is updated in real time on McDonald’s website.
In total, 64 McDonald’s restaurants have resumed operations in Ukraine. As reported, two locations recently resumed work in Kyiv."
