He was sacked because the film apparently portrayed pornagraphic scenes and the murder of children. Honestly, it still makes me so angry to come on here and be witness to such an amazing, transformative, transcendent piece of art, and to know the ignorance and stupidity of a group of parents and supposed proponents of knowledge and learning, would punish someone for trying to open a young person’s mind with something truly intellectual and challenging; that could even influence them to forgo paths of violence when the option presents itself to them later in life."

A QUOTE F.T.C. - "Will never forget for the rest of my life when I saw this. My mom and her boyfriend were visiting and we agreed to end the visit with a good experience at the cinema. This was the movie. As it ended and the whole cinema was full, you could hear a pen drop for maybe 3 minutes until after the credits had rolled, everyone sat in silence, cried, held hands and people then began to stand up and hug each other. I couldn't speak. Im a movie buff and always love talking about what we have just seen, but here the ending really knocked me out and I felt guilty and priviliged because I felt the main character could just as well had been me, just circumstance that i wasnt born yet or grew up in a wartorn country. My mom had a brain aneurism not long after so this was one of the last experiences I had with her where she was lucid and aware."
