He may be right. He may be wrong. While it's an educated guess, it's funny that they keep acting like Ukraine is marching into there at any second.

1SG Russell S. - I have to disagree. What Putin has done has been entirely predictable. He stated what he saw as his red line as far back as 2008 and his reaction to Georgia trying to reclaim South Ossetia was a preview of what was going to happen in Ukraine.
I don't understand why anyone thought that Russia would allow a hostile Ukraine to occupy the home of the Black Sea Fleet. It was beyond stupid.

CPT Lawrence Cable Maybe because Russia had signed 3 treaties with Ukraine in 1997 regarding the housing of fleets there? Just a thought.

LTC Trent Klug - I don't disagree. The fact that Ukraine disregarded the Minsk Agreement and the Central Government couldn't control or didn't want to control the Azov Brigade's constant shelling of the two breakaway oblasts was the final straw. My inner cynic wonders if that shelling wasn't a deliberate provocation.
