Thank you. The government does so few things well they have become a joke. These are areas they are meant to help with, and now they try to justify not performing these services, I can't understand why. Maybe they don't want the responsibility, maybe they are giving money to they friends who make money off his somehow. We will never know.

SFC (Join to see) - we have an adult family member who has mental issues and is deemed 100% disabled. There is not even one place for him to go in the entire county he lives in. He gets a shot every month that we think would cost about $3,000 and takes 17 medications per day. He has no dental or vision coverage. His medications are damaging his teeth. He receives rental and utility help. His food card gives him $56 per month last I heard. It falls upon the parents to foot all of the dental bills and part of the other bills.

SP5 Dennis Loberger - I seen it happen too many times. God Bless your family member and your family. I don't know if it's more difficult to have illnesses and be on the street, or to be a family member and not be able to help them.

White Haven Center set to close this month
Despite efforts to keep it open, DHS is moving forward with the state's plan to close the facility for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
