A large portion of those that left the labor force are older workers, but the 'prime' worker category (aged 25-54) still isn't at pre-COVID levels (in fact, the only category that seems to be above pre-COVID levels are Asians and 16-19 year olds).

How to motivate people, old and young is an agelong question. I’m not too bright but I do know one thing, giving them equal to, or more than they can make in an apprentice job to sit home isn’t going to help our nation. Some of my grandchildren got that sense there were worth more than they were during the lockdown. Thank God they seem to have worked that out of their system and are learning to work with people now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I see the old gremlin word "welfare" found it's way into the conservative vocabulary again.

Good morning Stan. I'm all for welfare and help, when it's needed. When it's not needed it can cause more harm than good. MHO.

SFC (Join to see) - I can agree to that. While there will always be abusers of the system, I think most states have tightened up the requirements and are also monitoring for those abusers.

And 'laziness' is still engraved in progressive vocabulary.
