Thanks for the share PO1 William "Chip" Nagel.

Interesting that the author puts for that statement, "Police didn't get defunded but many large departments are shrinking" but doesn't share any information about funding aside from this stated as a fact, but simply isn't true.

Looking at a document from "Interrupting Criminalization" that advocates for the defunding, "Over the past six months, organizers across the country have won significant victories in campaigns to reallocate funds from bloated police department budgets to meet community needs. They extracted over $840 million dollars from police departments, and secured investments of at least $160 million dollars in communities. They removed cops from schools in over 25 cities, saving an additional $34 million for investment in meeting student and community needs."

Not sure the author of the article did any research because just a casual search on the internet turned up dozens of links regarding funding cuts. Yes, many of those departments had increased funding put into their FY22 and FY23 budgets over backlash because of crime spikes, but for the author to pretend it didn't happen ... gaslighting to the max (so if you get shot and then patched up, you never got shot?)
