The school system has no business asking these questions and it is time to clean the schools of this dangerous philosophy. Furthermore, the trouble goes back to the state capitals where the legislatures decide what cirruculm to teach. Time to contact your representatives!

We ask the schools to teach pre-teens about sex but we expect them to only teach conservative morality in the classes?

MAJ Byron Oyler
Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Sex is not in the picture with many kids as parents today are more afraid of the boogey man and keep a tighter rein. I was already doing overnights with friends at my daughters age and the only time I have met her friends now was at a school sponsored science camp. I am right there with you we need to consider all things bad but I feel today there are less opportunities for sex than 40 yrs ago when I was there age. My children are not perfect angels and last night I had the discussion with my 7th grader about unprotected sex and how being a teenage dad will destroy his life goals. Not a discussion I need the school having.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - good for you. Of my many friends in high school, nor of their parents taught them about sex.

MAJ Byron Oyler I agree it's parents responsibility, but for many families, like with breakfasts and lunches, if the kids don't get it in school they don't get it at all.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I hear you Sir however working with lower socioeconomic families the government taking over responsibility is helping in the end far fewer than it helps. More and more children are watching how their parents do nothing and it does set an example in these communities.
