Fishermen caught cheating during walleye tournament plead guilty

Two fishermen who were caught cheating during a walleye fishing tournament in September pleaded guilty in Cuyahoga County court Monday.
Prosecutors recommended six months of probation, the forfeiture of a fishing boat and loss of their fishing licenses for three years.
Jacob Runyan and Chase Cominsky were originally charged with 3 felonies and a misdemeanor after walleye they claimed to have caught during a fishing competition in September were found to have weights inside them. The tournament was judged based on the weight of the catch.
A video of the tournament director cutting the fish open to reveal weights inside the fish, in front of other competitors, went viral. The case garnered international media attention.

Local news outlet Cleveland19 reported that the men would have been awarded $28,760 if they had not been disqualified. Additionally, the outlet reported that 10 weights were discovered inside the fish after they were cut open.
Cominsky agreed to surrender his bass boat and both men accepted a plea deal that would suspend their fishing licenses for three years, according to CBS."...

Ok...an integrity issue and they should be banned from any further competition for life...BUT...who really cares...did we really need to tie up lawyers, judges, and courtrooms for this? Is this really news in the news world with everything else that is going on? Is this really mainstream news? IMHO nope!
