Truth be told I identified with many of these when I was growing up. My Father was a very good man and always provided plenty except in the support department, Mom did her best but sometimes I needed Dad toi be there when he wasn't.
I decided my kids would never feel like that. Even through a remote tour in Alaska I'd call the family and ensure I talked with both of my boys as well as my CINC Home. I was sure to take them and participate in events and programs they wanted to participate in, Scouts and Tae Kwon Do. We had really good times and I am thankful for the ability to do so.
