If you don't live here and cross occaisionally, you don't understand how co-joined border towns are. The death of one is the death of the other. Yet another cost (tax?) with which Biden's Democrats have burdened we the people while implementing their Great Replacement agenda.

That sounds like a lot, but it's not really. That's just a click-bait headline.
My son works for Maricopa County, managing a large chunk of their $4.1+ Billion annual budget. He let me know that a standard work year = 2,080 hours. Take that and divide it by 4, for the number of hours a full-time position would work in a quarter and you get 520 hours. Now, take the original 4,000 hours and divide it by 520 and you get 7.69 full-time employees. Not really that many people, especially considering how short-handed the CBP is currently.

SSG Jim Blunt Sgt (Join to see) SrA Ronald Moore MAJ Hugh Blanchard MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen SGT John Schmelzkopf SSG Michael Noll So, this old REPENTANT HR wienie and "paid to be abrasive" labor relator offers that 4k OT hours is more than clickbait. The FTE equation is actually 4000hrs worked ÷ 2080 hrs = 1.923079 (rounded) FTEs annualized. But the discussion is OT. Every FTE is PAID for 2080 hrs, but WORKS 2080 minus PTO (vacation, holidays, bereavement, voting, jury duty, etc.) Additionally, the employer must cover mandated unpaid time off (FMLA, etc.) So, an employer must calculate how many hours work he has to cover ÷ 2080 to see how many belly buttons must show up each day then step on that with a multiplier - 1.3 to 1.7 is normal, higher if generous with PTO - to arrive at his FTE load, i.e. if he needs 100 people every day then he hires 130 to cover. Saying 4000 hrs OT is a number with little meaning. Says nothing about cost. Especially in union environments, as these are, OT is normally tiered. Say, 1.5X straight time for first 20hrs/week, 2X over 20hrs/wk, 3X holidays. (In it's simplest form) M.E.A.G.O. yet? So, if 4k hrs OT is worked, the PAY is 4k × 1.5 = 6k straight time hours or higher, with a blended rate likely approaching 2X, or 8k straight time hours. This was only one location of many along a 2000mi +/- border. As LGB might say, "That's a big f'g deal!" Nor does it reflect dinners with the kids missed, youth sports with missing parents, absence at PTA, etc. Not click bait.

Used to live Ft WeGotcha and SV, then Tucson, was PADI SCUBA Instructor, when I got out was going into Mexico almost every weekend with a Class. Even lived in the Yucatan, by Tulum Ruins (as an Illegal, lol) for awhile, all was beautiful then. Yes, we had Mexicans cross border, but they came to work and send money home, not grab the Obama, Biden "Free Stuff", Bring and sell drugs, steal, Sex Traffic. Nogales was not a nice place, but once you got further in the People changed to really nice friendly honest folks.
Haven't been in years, everything has changed, I think on both sides, Arizona was overrun by KaliKommies who left Kali to get away from the crazy Law, Regs and High Costs, Taxes. Guess what, they started demanding we change Our Laws and Regs to be more Kali, then ran, Elected KaliKommies Politicians to destroy Arizona. Pima County is a Sanctuary "Bring Em on" we will get the money from the Dumb Working Middle Class to pay for it.
Funny back a few years most Border Crossings closed at 6:00PM till 8:00AM only Nogey stayed open 24/7

I first arrived at Ft Huachuca in 1979. We were warned not to go too far back into the upper canyons on post lest we run into drug and people smugglers who might kill us. Periodically we had to go back into the canyons to clean up the garbage that the smugglers would leave, including empty water containers, poop, empty cans, etc. I understand now that the required intervals for these clean-up's has shrunk considerably as the post is heavily trafficked by the druggies and people smugglers.
We should consider these smugglers as invaders and terrorists and employ every lethal resource of the U.S. armed forces against them. Kill them all.

SGT John Schmelzkopf Yep! Here in the Tucson Mountain foothills we are still red, as is Vail and Oro Valley, Marana is pink, Tucson proper is blindingly deep, deep blue.
