I think a better question is "why do evangelicals continue to stand behind any politician?"
Trump personally sure doesn't appear to "walk the walk", but his policies support evangelicals. Biden personally appears to "walk to walk" (at least at times), but his policies do anything but support evangelicals.
It's like some here that 'Talk like a Christian, but I don't act like one' - even to the point that they agree with someone in their party demonizing the church and everyone that is Christian - people often put their politics above everything else.
