The price of everything is going up, including labor. MSgt (Join to see) but it’s about time we have some inventory that hasn’t been flying for 50 years already,

Great airplane and workhorse. We have kids flying the same planes their grandfathers flew. The reason it is still viable is that they sat alert for so many of thier earlier years so basically they were new. Now with all these modifications they will fly another 30 +years.

That’s a good point! I forgot about all those years. We use to have the BUFF’s out here at Fairchild AFB. Now they are strictly a tanker squadron of KC-135’s and occasionally visits from Navy F-18 and P-3 Orion’s.

"Acting Air Force Secretary John P. Roth told lawmakers on Jun. 17, 2021 that the total program cost of re-engining the B-52H fleetof 76 airplanes will be about $11 billion, a 9 percent jump over a previous estimate because of more up-to-date data."
