More idiotic comments from the left because they only want to embrace being a Sanctuary City/State as long as other people pay for their virtue signaling.
As the video easily shows, there was no deception involved and the individuals went willingly. Have to make sure you can prove your Is are dotted and Ts crossed because you KNOW that the left is going to try and twist any comment and make up false claims to say you're doing otherwise.

PO3 Shayne Seibert - Capt Prickett does have a point - even criminals are afforded rights under this country's laws. However, it's ludicrous to think they were 'duped' into going to California. Likely they have "Buyer's Remorse" after getting there and seeing everyone else leaving.

Had the current laws been applied with the illegals crossing the border this would have been moot. The first crime committed was when an illegal crossed the border without adhering to the current laws of the United States.

California Kidnapping Laws – Penal Code Sections 207, 208, And 209
In order to prove that you guilt of kidnapping the prosecutor must prove the following elements:
The defendant took, held, or detained another person
- by using force or instilling reasonable fear;
- Using that force or fear, moved the other person (or made the other person move) a substantial distance; AND
-The other person did not consent to the movement.
Once again, the media promulgates crap information in a manner that fits the medias political agenda (stop DeSantis)

On the movement of minors, if they moved them more than 120 miles without a signature from a parent, it's still a felony in Texas.
Next, under PC 207(d), it is kidnapping in California, "Every person who, being out of this state, abducts or takes by force or fraud any person contrary to the law of the place where that act is committed, and brings, sends, or conveys that person within the limits of this state, and is afterwards found within the limits thereof, is guilty of kidnapping."

Capt Gregory Prickett - I guess it will come down to whether they were promised jobs, or assistance finding jobs. It is my understanding that there were written agreements which were signed by the immigrants. It's been over 6 months. With the documents in hand, why so long to charge?

The only statements to the contrary haven't come from the illegal aliens. They have come from California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office. Why no comments from the illegal aliens themselves. Unfortunately, my trust in leftist/liberal/democrat politicians is so low that my start point is to assume they are busy coaching those illegal aliens on just what to say. And this will die down until late in the 2024 election cycle.
