The propaganda machine is on full blast on both sides. Winning hearts and minds of the russian civilians for Putin and for Zelinsky it's about talking up his lack of materiel to the UN.

Quote from the Comments - "Some bloggers mentioned that the russian's defense plan was to resist the ukrainian push in the first town, if they are driven out, they regroup in the next town with other units and vehicles and carry out a counter attack. On this, the Ukrainians have a very good tactic to avoid that. One of the most interesting tactics is the use of RAAMS (mine-scattering artillery) and use them to mine first the roads between the two positions and secondly in the rear to prevent new reinforcements from arriving, supplies or simply hinder enemy logistics. These mines are programmed to detonate after a few hours or days. The detonation is mandatory, it is to obey international war laws (as to not leave any unexploded explosive, as it could harm civilianz in the future). The Ukrainians regroup, recover and attack the next point just as the first mines expire and detonate. The mines in the rear stay active longer to avoid reinforcements."
