Army veteran's Bronze Star for Afghanistan firefight upgraded to Silver Star

Cyr received the award this week from Maj. Gen. Thomas Drew, the head of Army Human Resources Command, at a ceremony in Alaska.He more than earned it for his actions in the face of danger, congratulations, well done.

What great chain of command he had supporting the upgrade. But a three man team to retrieve two fallen comrades? As I was reading I believe he should have been put in for the silver star initially instead of bronze star. Still hard for the enlisted to get awards compared to officers. Glad it was upgraded.
