New orca calf spotted near British Columbia

McInnes studies killer whales up and down the West Coast and says that multiple females within a pod will take care of a calf.
McInnes notes southern resident pods are spending more time out on Pacific fishing banks, away from the Salish Sea, perhaps having to go further to try to find the salmon they need for food."

Saw an excellent documentary years ago “Blackfish” probably on YouTube by this time. Whaling was the primary occupation in Connecticut. Whale watching on the Pacific side.

Maj Kim Patterson I will always remember How the Orcas would escort USS California CGN-36 and USS Arkansas CGN-41 Home to Bremerton when We Would return from being Underway. they would Meet us as We entered the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
