A pretty scathing video opinion piece. Thankfully my girls want nothing to do with seeing this. I will be fun to see how much money it loses.

I loved Barbie growing up so this is really disheartening. I never got poor body image issues from Barbie as many used to claim, I got that from every other piece of media out there. I never cared about what Barbie loved to do for her profession it didn’t make me feel limited on the accomplishments women could do. Why? Because when I played with Barbie I wrote the storyline. No homemaker Barbie? Well that’s not shocking because they are using this platform just like all the other platforms for girls to direct them to the profession they want which has been away from the home since the 60s. Only now they do it in the name of STEM. I never had to “see her to be her” why? Because I was told to be whatever I wanted.

I’m so disgusted by what they have turned Barbie into without knowing that’s what’s going on. I’ve never been into the movies of hers because by the time they came out I was past that age. And by the way…what little girl goes to the toy store and says oh mommy I want the Barbie with 3 chins and curves??? Or was that platform taken up by adults who just needed one more thing to bitch about?
