Native Americans know the ‘boarding school era’ of the 1800s all too well. Thousands of children—ripped from their homes by religious groups and the US Government. We revisit a local push to get answers--and ownership of an historic site—as we discuss a national documentary shining a light on another school designed for assimilation.

It is a painful past...native Americans were not treated with the dignity and respect of a human being. Some say it was in the name of religion but it was all about fear and greed. Thanks for the post.

It was not limited to the 1800's. My wife was sent to an Indian boarding school when she was 9 years old. (1958)
