The NAACP can’t have it both ways. They need to decide if they want to make excuses for lawlessness or be on the side of law and order. I fear they are historically an organization that has been pushing our society toward the cliff edge. MHO

CSM Charles Hayden - Exactly. It comes from every taxpayer's wallet right into the personal pockets of NAACP's so-called "leaders." Much like the BLM's funding.

Oakland has been a crime riddled city long before I lived near the Bay area. Weren't these guys wanting the police defended after George Floyd's demise? I guess getting slapped in the face by reality squashes the utopian dream at times.

LTC Trent Klug - Agreed, Colonel. I'm a retired SFPD cop and back when I was on the job in the 80's and 90's, even us off-duty cops wouldn't go anywhere near Oakland unless we absolutely had to. I can't remember a time when Oakland was ever a "safe" place to live or visit.

I always loved to walk around Lake Merritt. It was beautiful, peaceful, and safe. (I lived in Alameda 2006-2012).
