Mental illness is an excuse. This is racism plain and simple.

It's also apparent this individual had severe mental health problems and it seems the warning signs were there an NOT headed off. his extreme racial hatred isn't even normal behavior as a factor should have been noticed. It's too bad three innocent people lost their lives because of this nut job but I can't say I'm sorry He is dead Himself.

SGT (Join to see) - For sure, He needed help and control and it apparent never got it. It's doubtful He was going to be ok anyway but a least help prevent Him from harming or killing others which is exactly what He did. One problem though even if identified He has more patient rights than His victims have to be safe from people like Him. I've seen within a family member of My own for almost 25 years Him having more rights than His victims within the medical community unless a court imposed controls. He is currently in a secure facility because the Court sent Him there and will not take medications unless it's court ordered and enforced. When You have the ill person making the decisions, even though He is dangerous, You have a problem. In His case it can't be cured only controlled and He Himself won't do it, it has to be enforced upon Him.

SGT (Join to see) - True, and with My own relative, according to Him there is nothing wrong with him, well there is ! Myself and other members of our family have made sure the Police and courts were involved as He is NOT capable of making sound decisions on His own accord. When the person with metal health problem has more rights than His victims in the health care system there is a problem. We are thankful for the great job the Police Department in His community have done and He is dangerous.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - you are blessed to have the Police Department knowing & willing to assist... you did the right thing notifying them. I had a nephew who committed suicide by Cop.
