And this helps them, how? Each of us who wore the uniform of our nation learned that there is no option but to do the right thing. Yea, there were consequences and I admit to pushing the envelope sometimes (OK, often). We have lost the necessity for consequences following our immature behavior . Back in the ‘70’s to 80’s I observed the phenomenon first hand as a Paramedic. A 911 call brought all of the shiny vehicles with red lights atop, and idealistic youngin’s like me. Having no immediate way to care for these folks, I became frustrated. Then they showed up at church asking for cash to buy a bus ticket either to El Paso or LA. I fell for it hard and clearly enabled their behavior. Looking through the retrospectrograph, I see where I missed the right intervention . About the same time, the homeless guys that I agreed to let them sleep under our bushes and trees, dismantled our newish heat pump units for the copper as scrap metal. I shut my outreach down and they avoided our property. When I offered them shelter beds, they became combative and verbally abusive. This has stayed with me after all of these years…..like Israel trying to help the Palestinians.

Your idealism is very laudable. I wish things had gone better in your work to help them.

1st Lt Padre Dave Poedel: This is an eye opening analysis of your experiences and wish the results were in tune with your objectives for these people. But, you went forth to serve others in our Lord's name and you shall not go unrewarded.

Joe said he has no home to move to but the one in Delaware, so move him into one of these places so he can experience the filthy conditions he created via the illegals in America. Way to go Joe, you have become our Country's Cesspool President!

I live in Casper and the homeless/vagrant issue is growing. They've taken over bus stops and under passes. They fight with the panhandlers for spots to ask for money. Over half are meth addicts or fentanyl addicts.
They will be soon moving to a city near you because our winters aren't kind... Or they will end up dead from an overdose.

PO3 Shayne Seibert: Thank you for America's wake up call from someone on the front lines. Right now, those not impacted believe they will not be effected. We are all in for a rude awakening thanks to the idiotic policies of Biden and his cronies. May they be next to experience exactly what you are warning us about and I hope they ravish in the filthy conditions they created.
