From article: "In 2020, the technology company Cisco was sued by the state after two high-caste Indian managers allegedly discriminated against a Dalit engineer, paying him a lower salary."

Even within a minority group, some members will discriminate instead of judging on merit.

Not sure how much a caste system is being recognized/ used here in America and how those discriminated against are not already covered - another instance of California being California

There are no laws against discrimination in general, illegal discrimination laws cover only a very limited set of circumstances. In all other cases discrimination is legal, and often appropriate. Companies may decide to hire only college graduates for certain jobs, people under a certain height are not allowed toncertain rides, does the navy have height standards for members of a submarine crew?

Yet there are numerous types of unfair discrimination. There are people who will not hire veterans because of a belief that veterans are "all war like". People will be hired or not hired, promoted or not promotes, based on how "pretty" or "handsome" they are. There are those who will discriminate in favor of people from the same school to the detriment of those from other schools who are more qualified.
