I have never bought into the concept that we are alone in the universe, either, Jack... And we are certainly not the most intelligent beings in it... as you stated. In my opinion, older civilizations from wherever in the Universe will have reached a scale of knowledge far superior to our current humanoid civilization on planet Earth.
