LTC Eugene Chu he definitely would have been better than 45...
"Willard Mitt Romney is an American politician, businessman, and lawyer who has served as the junior United States senator from Utah since 2019. He served as the 70th governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and was the Republican Party's nominee for president of the United States in the 2012 election, losing to incumbent Barack Obama."

Curious what you thought in 2012 when he was ridiculed by the media and the left as he stated Russia is the biggest geopolitical enemy of the US during the Presidential debates.

It was a different time period. US was unfortunately dependent on Russia due to logistics of supporting our troops in Afghanistan.
Vladimir Putin is similar to Donald Trump from people not realizing about true nature and personality until later.

How do you figure? Obama had already started the drawdown of troops in Afghanistan prior to this. In 2012 Russia was supporting the Iranian and Taliban ties and working to hurt US forces/objectives, which were already weakened by the drawdown and getting worse. By 2014 we pull almost all the advisors and removed virtually all of our presence from the outlier bases. 2012 also resulted in Clinton's failed "reset" with Russia and it was the same year Biden effectively pissed Putin off by stating he should not run for a 3rd term.
