Exasperated GOP leaders vent frustration at holdouts as shutdown nears

In a concession to the hard-liners, Republican leaders plan to advance four full-year appropriations bills next week — a last-ditch effort that does nothing in of itself to avert a shutdown, but that GOP leaders will build enough goodwill with holdouts to move them to vote in favor of a short-term funding bill.

But they are doing so while taking jabs at the members who have long made advancement of their priorities difficult.

When the GOP conference reached the apparent breakthrough agreement on Wednesday on how to proceed on the full-year funding bills the conservatives have been demanding, some of them — such as Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) — took a victory lap and said that GOP leadership was adopting their strategy.

That frustrated GOP leaders and their allies.

“The arsonists are out there, number one, whining that their house is on fire; number two, are going to want credit that they put the fire out; and then number three, are gonna set up a GoFundMe site to get paid for it,” Graves said.

“I think that if we get into a shutdown, it’s because there was a failure in strategy that was absolutely manipulated or distorted by disingenuous behavior, intentions and probably ignorance,” he later added.

Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) told reporters on Friday that “Some of the same people who were objecting to the whole process saying we should be bringing up individual bills are the reason we’re not bringing up individual bills. So, let’s not have a circular logic here.”...

The latest information at the very end was actually 2022 but here is the current information on our deficit that is not being addressed. I know we have over 30 trillion in debt but I'm talking about current debt.

Doesn't make sense to forgive student loans to those who make money. Doesn't make sense to allocate billions of dollars to illegal aliens that shouldn't be here to begin with. President Biden just approved a whole bunch of temporary passes to venezuelans, don't you think the words going to get out to everybody? Also, these Caravans are often started by radio announcements in Honduras or other countries and some conspirators have shuttled these illegal aliens from Honduras and elsewhere arranging transportation, arranging buses, dump trucks and others to bring people to the Guatemalan border to Honduras and then from the Guatemalan border to the Mexican border. Sure, I know there's over 150 other countries that are coming over here but since President Biden is lying answers is Administration is lying when just Eagle Pass alone had 10,000 people come one day last week. The Democrats say the border is secure. The homeland security Chief and the president United States should be impeached and convicted and removed from office for not following Federal law. So you have President Biden being a Scofflaw and hurting the United States ability to be independent of high oil prices caused by OPEC plus. So you name it, the president screws it up! All these points of contention and overspending by the Democrats is one reason why we're having the shutdown because Democrats don't want the Border shut down. They want the border to stay open and Chuck Schumer wants the illegals to be pardoned so they can all vote in 2028 or 2032 with the expectations that they're going to vote Democrat.

He has spent between 7:00 and 9 trillion dollars since he took office. Our inflation rate went from 1.6% to over 5 to 6%. Our costs are up between 17 and 20% since President Biden assumed office. Interest rates were near zero and now they're going to 8% for homes. So when Kamala Harris talks about the paranoia of young people not wanting to have kids or not wanting to buy a house because of golf Delta climate change propaganda scare tactics, they couldn't afford the house anyway thanks to President Biden and his Federal Reserve that has lost all credibility. Why do you think the Market's gone down so much the last 3 days? They were promised for the last few months that interest rates were going to level off and eventually go down. Instead, we're probably going to have a recession early 2024 and that's going to happen and watch President Biden blame Republicans on that as well!

Everybody suffers because Democrats think that illegal aliens are more American than real americans. America suffer because the US government doesn't believe in finance and economics 101. The US suffers because they don't want to lower spending like President Clinton did in the late 2000s almost balanced the budget.

President Biden lied saying that he cut back 1.7 trillion dollars. Here's the current account on our budget and it's getting worse. If we sold oil and if we pumped oil abroad, we would have less of a current deficit but this President would rather buy oil from Venezuela instead of pumping it domestically.
