Sadly, gun control will do nothing. As an Expert Marksman, and Police Combat Expert (firearms) I and others with similar experience/ background could do as much damage with a revolver. No, I know long guns are often favored, but keep in mind the suspect recently received training at an army range.
More importantly, he was recently committed to a mental facility which begs the question of how effective that was/was not?

SGT (Join to see) likewise - always good to have discussions with you whether or not we agree.
I have several AR' and AK's just for fun mostly and protection though I'm out in the country and as soon as anyone enters my property, I know it (dog, cameras & security systems).

SGT (Join to see) - doubt that I could buy one now... and don't have any plans to. When the Lord is ready for me... I'm prepared... just not standing in the line for a ticket... :-)

PV2 (Join to see) from what I read just today, there was no suggestion that the Army had committed him for the 2 weeds he was hospitalized. I got the distinct impression civilian authorities did that; however the article was not entirely clear about that.

Indeed. The sickness extends far past gun violence. Wasn’t there around 6000 Iranian military aged men identified at the southern border this past 2 years? I think I’m gonna hold onto my guns for a bit. Just sayin

It's mostly peaceful protesters. We do have a crisis of Criminals with guns. Most are felons or even a nonbinary individual or 2 . The crisis is; we make more and more guns inaccessible to law abiding citizens and do nothing to the criminals and those whom have stated openly that they want /to harm themselves or others the latter usually get treated and streeted.
Look at the number of people whom have firearms legally and you'll see, they aren't the problem.
