What is truly amazing is how tough a foe the small country of Germany was. Take out either the East Front or the Western Front and all resources could have been diverted to the other…..and possibly win.

So was my dad, both his brothers, his sister (who was killed in a collision with a fuel tanker at March Field in early '45), my mom's brothers and both of her brother's-in-law. My dad's family was all army or AAF and my mom's were all Marines (her oldest brother was captured on Wake Island on 23 Dec. 1941).
