I understand your thinking Stan and I only agree with it up to a point. If the world is made inhabitable you are right. In all other cases our Country is large enough to be self-sufficient and not need anyone.

I say if they don't get a balanced budget together on time take away their phones, lock them in chambers with only MREs to eat and bathroom breaks... they can sleep at their desks, and they don't have the ability to work on anything else until the budget is done. The President needs to be in there with them, the vice president can run the Country while until the budget is passed and signed.
The budget would get done pretty quick.
