Deputy Sheriff Robert K. Schnur

One of my former soldiers reached out to me and told me that he's thinking of all the Police/Sheriff Officers that died in the line- of- duty in various departments over the years.

My father was friends with this Sheriff Helicopter pilot. He would fly overmy house on my birthday and say 'happy birthday Stevie!' back in 1967.

He also would say hello to my mom while flying over the Whittier, California shopping center because he recognized her and her car. He was a friendly eye in the sky for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

He did not see a cable one evening and his helicopter crushed into it. Let us not forget the fallen hurt law enforcement.

A Deputy Sheriff observer was also involved in the crash and was killed.
