PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Thanks for the excellent interview. Matthew Levitt comes across as someone in whom it is possible to have confidence. Something everyone should know.

To add to a little something to that, here is something someone messaged me last week.
One might assume that the folks with the most bucks have the most connections and and do the most "business":

Hamas Leadership: One billionaire and 3 millionaires:

-Haled Mashal - 5 billion Dollars

-Yehie Sinwar - 3 million Dollars

-Mohamed Def - 5 million Dollars

-Yismail Hanye - 5 million Dollars.

Notice that Sinwar is said to have the least net worth. I suggest his importance is that he is there on the ground, and does all the work of having the responsible for being commander of the Qassim Brigade (militia).

What is said about Sinwar is one huge reason he and the P.A. do not see eye to eye. He was never a friend to civilians, obviously and it was not his job to be. He is probably the one who has always been responsible for recruiting young men, pressuring them in any way possible, including extortion, promises to provide what their families need as a motivator. Maybe he chased down collaborators to get them to join the militia, and if they didn't killed them.
