MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. these poems from the 1915 trenches of war are raw and dark. But they tell the truth.

The poems written by soldiers during wartime are direct and truthful. Whenever I read them, I wonder how and why I chose it as a profession.

The first time I read 'The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner' was on an overhead projector and the teacher had the last line covered until we had read the first four lines. So sad and powerful.
