We Do Not Have Turkey On Thanksgiving.
My Wife And I Do Not Like The Taste.
We Will Be Eating A Ham From A Feral Hog I Shot Last Month During A Trip To Georgia To Visit My Son .
The Best Tasting Food Does Not Come From A Grocery Store !

I have had wild hog and it truly is the best meat...just has a better taste. My wife and I eat a lot of venison. I kill about two to three a year and fill the freezer and when it starts getting low it is about hunting season again. I don't hunt rack...I hunt meat...deer, squirrel, rabbit, turkey, dove, duck etc. It all tastes better and I know it is all natural.

I Hunt For Meat Also.
Doe And Young Buck Meat Is More Tender Than An 8 Or 10 Pointer That Is 3-4 Years Old .
Besides, I Have A 12 Pointer Hanging On My Wall That I Got 15 Years Ago And I Have Not Seen Another Buck That Large Since.

We had our family Thanksgiving on Saturday so we could all travel as we wanted to on the actual day. My wife brined a Turkey overnight and then slow roasted it and that was absolutely the best Turkey I have ever put in my mouth. I am not a white meat fan but that was all I ate. May have to make another in a couple of months just to have it again.

.. "Once you have your turkey, transfer it into the fridge to thaw. How long that takes depends on how big the turkey is. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, you'll need a day for every four to five pounds of turkey. So if your turkey weighs eight pounds, it will take about two days to thaw.

Don't forget to factor in the time you will need to season your turkey, says Lam. That can take "anywhere between six hours to two days," depending on your method."...
