We have a blended version of what we both grew up with. Both of us gave up some things but the end result is what we all loved the best. Menu hasn't changed much in 50 years, but stuffing is still the favorite side, and yes it's stuffing because we do stuff the bird.

Yes, turkey rules the table, it's tradition! Like Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen , we have a blended of what we both grew up with. We always have the yummy green bean casserole but since I'm not a fan of mushrooms, I use cream of chicken in it rather than cream of mushrooms. We also still stuff the bird, no matter that the media tells us we shouldn't, LOL. Pie also rules!!!

My mother stuffed the bird, we stuff the bird and I'm over 70, so the experts don't have a clue. Pecan pie in the oven, apple cooling on the rack, pumpkin is one of those so-so, like but don't love, things we removed from our menu.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Pécan pie is good but most are overly sweet so I don’t usually eat them but I always steal a bite of my husband’s :-)

SSgt Kelly D. I agree on very sweet and can't begin to tell you how she does it, but wife has mastered making pecan pie that isn't sickening sweet. She has no recipe, all, in her head.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Ohhh, nice! I’ve never been a pie maker but think I’m going to have to try this one.
